Bass Strait Oil Output to Halve:
Perth: ExxonMobil Corp. says it expects
crude oil production from the Bass Strait, off Australian South East Coast to
halve over the next 5 – 10 years and its future in that region is in Gas.
Production from the Bass Strait Oil fields located up to 80k off the Victorian
coast in the Gippsland basin peaked at 550,000 barrels per day and is currently
around 110,000 barrels per day. ExxonMobil has produced about 80-90% of what it
has found in the Gippsland Basin so it’s on the tail end of production. The
company will continue with exploration with the hope of finding more oil.“End”
