The pressure on management to do a deal - any deal - must be intense.

But for one, I hope that they resist the pressure and continue with the new trial to completion.

The Phase 2b trial plan was flawed and as a result the data was not tightly grouped. These people both were and were not on diets. This flaw is addressed in the new trial. In addition the idea of exploring a longer period of dosing is very positive in terms of enhancing value because other weight loss drugs lose effectivelness after 3 months or so.

I'd rather hang on and add to my position in the educated expectation of a larger payoff in the end, than to take a short term runup at the expense of longer term gains.

Others may sell, and there is certainly a case for doing that; after all one can certainly get back in the game later when things turn up. I chose very consciously to hold for five years, knowing that things could get rough.
