At what point should someones privacy be respected.

Would it be okay if the government set up cameras and microphones in your bedroom and bathroom.

Should we all be made to wear monitors that record every moment of our daily lives.

Maybe all cars could be fitted with monitoring devices including cameras and microphones so we could be automatically fined if we exceed the speed limit by 1kph or any other minor or inadvertent action.

Governments and private enterprise already have access and the ability to remotely turn on peoples microphones and cameras of their computers and mobile devices.

Is it okay to spy on people and record every aspect of their lives.

What about monitoring private conversations or thinking out loud, would that be the end of Irish jokes, or the ability to discuss subjects or matters the government deems politically incorrect.

Should the monitoring include health and fitness issues, or spending habits, etc., so the government can find new ways to tax or penalize individuals.

At what point does giving the government access to our private lives step over the line, (even for those who claim it is okay if you do nothing wrong)?
