found an article published in 1997 by Discovery magazine.

it states :"...the gold ore extracted from underground never (fell) below 11.6g/t as the gold processing technology of the day could not profitably extract any ore with a lower grade.

that has left large volumes of remnant ore which could be mined (in the future)."

so besides the tailings there is also high grade remnant ore stashed on different levels ready to be easily mined.

the co. would know the location of all this remnant ore too as WMC (former owners) were famous for the detail of their mining records.

there are "over 44000 pages of technical reports & mining & exploration data (that were) assembled by WMC & consigned to microfilm in a massive data retrieval program".

lastly, i understand that Discovery magazine are to do another profile on MCO hopefully published this february.

regards, jack I. (p.s. any MCO material please send my way. cheers)
