Liberal is just another word the left have hijacked and use to refer to people who are wholeheartedly not liberal at all.
The people the left call "liberals" now hate the idea of the individual, hate the idea of private property, hate the idea of equality before the law, hate the idea of actual equality full stop, etc etc etc. What you call a "liberal" is really an authoritarian socialist
