Hi simonmc,

I have been trading with MQ4 and have been using several trading systems.

Don't think of forex as holygrail. Trading live or forward testing is the only way to prove results.

Systems can vary also on conditions of market. Some systems do better at volatile times and vice versa.

No trading system is holy grail and realise that forex monitoring is dependant on your trading style, i.e. chart times.

My recommendation is to test your system for 2-3 months and once your satisfied with results, test on a live micro account to reduce risk of loss.

Remember forex can be quick and hurt you hard if you do not have money management in place. I consider money management 90% of a succesful EA.
