"Also the two new boys at MTS should be getting their feet under the table by now and we should see some results in the next 120 odd days from their space."
When I read the announcement that advised of them coming on board, I said to myself that MTS must have something in mind to want Aldi and Lidl experience coming on board; most probably to go head on with Aldi and to discourage or make it hard for Lidl to get established. MTS has said publicly that Australia can support two discount grocers. We know of one, Aldi and one intending Lidl. I don't think Cosco is really much of a threat, as they are not spread far enough.
I thought we would have seen an announcement by now re some plans, if they really are serious about turning the co around. I know things like that take time, but meanwhile, Lidl is getting their product registrations and logistics a bit further along in their plan.
The fact that NAB and WBC are buying is a good sign. Hopefully not for further shorting.
