Leadership is a really good factor in this debate. The parent company at Metcash don't seem to get involved too much with local leadership and my research of IHG (Independent Hardware Group) being the overseer of the whole Hardware and Tools portfolio seems to show they have wobbled since Annette Welsh left last year. Could be time to put some genuine talent and change managers into the Hardware vertical instead of unqualified long tenure franchise family members or ex-shop floor employees who don't understand strategy.
