Metcash has just passed Myer as the largest shorted stock on the ASX. There does seem to be a war on between the shorts and longs for this stock. Last week Metcash's chart looked like it was going to break out of its downtrend but the shorts seem to be back in front right now. I am a long, but not as confident that we can win in the short term now particularly as we are heading into the season for selling tax loss stocks.
Shortman seems a bit slow in updating today and haven't put the latest figures in as I write this but here it is for those who would like to see it. I got the latest figures from ASIC but shortman should update soon.
