I prefer the story from the Summerian scrolls and ancient tablets that talk about a rogue planet called Nibiru and its moons in collisions with a planet a lot bigger than earth. The remaining top part of this planet is now earth and the ring of fire around the pacific is the hole closing up. The rest of that original planet is the asteroid belt and a lot of that did fall back on eath and the moon which was the moon of the original planet. Google "Nibiru" and the author Zacharia Sitchen for lots of detail and about earth been mined for gold for nearly 500,000 years. Brings up lots of other issues so dont get too excited if you dont agree. As I said I prefer this story as there is a lot more proof, not just speculation.
