Thanks. An interesting article indeed. If a drilling rig is still not available over the next 6 months, and MEL can demonstrate to Regulator that their best endeavours to procure one, have been unsuccessful, they could argue to extend the 6 month deadline. That said, it does signal to MEL that they need to to make concerted efforts to source a rig and drill Cervantes in the next 6 months. The Ensign 970 is about to move from STX to drill a NWE/MIN well (Lockyer Deep-1) and will then go back to STX, so that rig is unlikely to became available. The Ensign 970 is "over kill" for LD-1 anyway. But you never know, if another slot becomes available, MEL would be obliged to use it.

Tomorrow is going to be an interesting opening, as the Vali-3 wireline logging program is surely be complete by now, along the initial wireline interpretation of the gas shows observed while drilling. Actual gas pay counts may come later. And then we have the CR bit to ponder........ A left field highlight could a movable oil......in the shallower Jurassic section.
