Perhaps another inquiry side-tracking the real NSW energy issues could help to unseat a current Minister? ie. Anthony Roberts.

What's a few hundred million dollars compo using tax payers money, when Labor could use it to damage the Libs Ministry. Labor advocated for cancelling of the licenses without compensation, but Libs have said openly that it's not possible. That's right: Talk is cheap.

Or, the current Government could buy out the gas licenses now (as you have suggested Jake) and "blame" on the previous Labor Government for issuing the licenses willy nilly in the first place.

If this is so, then which side will pull the trigger first? Forget about the court appeal as damage control/prevention is now the main game of politics.
