I think the government has made it harder to Dr and Pharmacy shop to buy large amounts of pseudoephadrine drugs to make their ecstacy and methamphetamine drugs.
Also due to recent large quantity discoveries at our airports, the ingredients are harder to come by for larger scale operations(apparently).
The drug users are finding it hard to get supplies so they have comenced making it for themselves with very small quantities.
It appears the recent meth lab busts were small enough to produce only small amounts of the drug, enough to keep the druggies supplying themselves.
Hence the reason why I believe there has been an increase in meth labs located.
Also the media publicity identifying what neighbours should look out for.
