Naza - (or anyone else that has worked on a rig) - is it possible to drill through Hydrate? - Know people
have mentioned a Japanese company doing it, however, is this something that is now done regularly?
If we cannot drill through the Hydrate then I would imagine that they are going to repair the rig / equipment that has most likely been damaged drilling through the hard ice crystals and then plug and abandon the well and move on to the next well... unless they can drill through the Hydrate in which case they will most likely repair the well (or possibly ship in different drill bits for Hydrate??) and then continue drilling.
IMO these are the only 2 outcomes.
