Uphole retreat stoping. Develop an ore drive along the vein of ore. Generally 4.5m x 5m ish. Then drill production holes up to the next level, Blow it up then bog it out with remote loaders. Thats the basics of it.
They used diamond drilling and long hole sludge drilling to define where the vein is between the two levels. So the production holes can be drilled as close to the vein as possible. This then reduced the amount of waste rock they would get in the stope dirt. Ive read in one of wpg's reports that they still do this.
