Metrocoal has increased its Bundi project?s thermal coal resources by 56% to 923 million tonnes.

Drilling on the miner?s project, located in Queensland's Surat Basin, confirmed the continuity of its Macalister Upper seam and extended its resource area while also adding the Kogan seam as a workable mining section.

According to Metrocoal, the Kogan seam is between 2.2 metres and 5.8 metres thick and could provide around 50 million tonnes of coal.

The miner?s total resource now stands at 923 million tonnes of underground coal, with 900 million tonnes inferred and 23 million tonnes already indicated.
