The situation in Mexico has over the past few weeks taken a slight shift in general direction which in my opinion will significantly transform the potential revenue stream generated from a successful tender bid.

There has been almost a national movement which I would say started with the program for student drug testing and which now has swollen into a desire stemming from the need to set an example from the top of society down.

Politically Mexico seems to have come to the conclusion that the most effective way to gain public support and implement an antidoping policy is by testing almost everyone in public service. Under the various proposed scenarios everyone in politics would be required to take regular drugs test from those in the top positions down, all police personal, taxi drivers, truck drivers, bus conductors, school teachers and basically anyone in a public position.

The drug problem in Mexico is horrendous and its almost entrenched at all levels of society and politics. Mexicans are beyond bandaid ideas, it’s a national crisis which has filtered down and is destroying an entire generation of Mexico’s children, everyone has had enough.

I have no idea if or when any of the antidoping policies will come into effect but I would say sooner rather that late. I cannot even but an estimate on the number of testing device units Mexico will need.
