In this market people are scared to buy shares and other "safe" assets. Who in their right mind would pay for an interest in an oil field that requires millions to risk in development, when their are a lot of risky deep oil fields.
Clean energy offers some hope for investment but I think the days of drilling at see at km's below the surface are proving too risky. See the fortune of AED and many others to see what risks their are for those projects.
