New phase of Drug testing in Mexican Schools to begin 2008-2009 school year

The Ministry of Education in Nuevo Leon invite local private schools to participate in the antidoping programs for the 2008-2009 school year, as do 53 campuses public secondary level.
The owner of the state agency, Reyes Tamez Guerra noted that the program "Safe School", teachers and parents make up councils to assess the problem of addiction in stocks, and then define strategies.
He indicated that the next phase of this program, which would begin in the 2008-2009 school year, comprise approximately 449 thousand schools in the state, of which 372 are private and the rest public.
He pointed out that for this second stage, "all private schools that are interested and that parents are in agreement, we will include," said Tamez Guerra.
He stressed that as has been done so far, the incorporation of these actions undertaken by the Federal Government with the prior consent of teachers and parents and even students.
He reiterated that in the event that a parent does not accept the antidoping for one of their children, it does not apply, and if approved, if the student objects, nor would take place.
The official recalled that in the case of 53 schools where antidoping tests are applied to students, it is because they are in areas at risk and because the community school so requested.
