MFG is probably the closest you'll get to where charting becomes completely meaningless.
If a company has debt issues or their FUM is being pulled while the company is dragged through the media for poor performance (MFG) the charting isn't going to give you worthwhile information. You can have all indicators pointing on every time length to oversold, but if its the day before a performance update where another 5b is sucked out of the fund you can throw all that garbage out the window.
Personally I think charting is useful, but it takes a very "special" mind to think that charting tells the story for a company like MFG. Charts are always subservient to fundamentals.
