I think MFG is the perfectly priced stock in this current climate. The rally from the March Covid low is well and truly in overvalued territory. IMO now is the time to start considering a defensive play. MFG seem the best placed fund on the ASX for a correction that appears to be unfolding, first signs always seem to stem from collapsing iron ore price.
A clever play, sheltered and bucking the trend is what has always worked for me. Whilst it’s easy to rant on about a quarter or two of below expected performance, what will be today’s frustrating will be tomorrow’s hindsight and once the play is complete this forum will speak nothing but praise for Hamish and his impeccable vision.
I’ve entered MFG and I will be in an accumulation phase for this month.
The un-correlated ‘gold’ appears to be at an all time low. Will the break way away continue or will history prove that this gap must close?
The other alarm bell is the surge in retail investors, always last on the scene and the first to leave. The cycle, the funds will bully this new wealth into a bear market from mid October til late Jan/early Feb. I hear 15% correction, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see a little more.
I have some brains and a decent set of nuts, so my play is to gobble up defensive plays, chase a 25% surge, watch the collapse around me, than buy the dip at a 25% discount.
call me the king of the ASX.
