If that is a big theme playing out in the US, it is not one based on fact. I recently did a bit of experiment comparing the performance of all my dud stocks vs a variety of ETFs. I started with about $261,915 worth of duds at 29/11/21 and then I compared it with the same amount of money in a variety of ETFs on roughly the same date.
Here are the results
the duds rose $18,111 STW rose $7302 IVV rose $3,292 So the Duds outperformed STW by 148% and IVV by 450% in a little over a month. now it is worth keeping in mind that these are all my duds just imagine what the difference might be if I was comparing a basket of descent stocks like say Amazon, Google, Louis Vuitton, Microsoft etc over a much longer period. there would be no comparison.
