the strategy has benefited from low interest rates over the years. every time rates rise, performance has a hiccup. as you know they buy 'growth bonds'. MFG is a one trick pony. the game is up. rates will rise. performance will be harder than the last decade. value and ex US will outperform US growth stocks. MFG does not have 5 years to prove itself, it either hits a home run this year or the games over. that is the nature of funds management when you dont run permanent capital.
