While I am a hard sell on Magellan I do respect this post. I envy your courage Good Sir - I don't think by any means the business is worthless, but I do think it is in decline as bad performance begets bad performance, and that = outflows.
The one thing to consider here is, and it may be a very farfetched idea, could Magellan be an acquisition target? Let's say private equity or even BlackRock bought Magellan, fired its staff, slashed its fees to utter cheapness to retain FUM, harvested its book of clients into other strategies.
Just a thought.
