As shareholders our objective is to get best return with a given risk appetite. The first thing to establish is to find out are the funds doing well compared to the rest of the market and any competitor like GQG after considering the risk each fund is taking. Once the funds make money whether it put back into the business or paid out as dividends is secondary to me. There are advantages and disadvantages to the shareholders either way.
On this notion of MFG and its funds are being out performed by market and indexes has to be dispel for it it to get its "mojo" back and for inflow. I have complied the following table to dispel this notion that MFG is still under performing the indexes. Since coming out of Covid, that is from some time early this year, as every month passes you can see total MFG funds are increasing at higher rate than the indexes. Even the retail fund of MGOC is up there with the indexes. Next I have copied GQG performance to compare to MFG. To the total MFG fund when compared to GQG for current calendar year the difference is marginal. That is for 8 months or 10 months. You can make your own judgment. These figures are close enough, it is the trend I am interested in,
