Yes, I remember B&B disaster. They were different business model though, plenty of debt and involved segments of business which was badly hurt just before and after GFC. Equipment leasing, property were decimated during GFC.
At least at the moment Barrenjoey is only a financial services company and not much fixed capital involved.
I am not sure what their future plans, but we can expect Hamish with his conservative approach to withdraw from such activities.
