I never said anything about outperforming the market on this one particular day.
I was just demonstrating where, compared
to a fund manager that was ‘all in’ on big tech,
Magellan would outperform because of the offsetting non tech defensives in the portfolio.
Hamish is criticised at times for investing in ‘low growth plodders’ - this is a one day illustration of the protection the low growth plodders provide.....that’s all.
