Hi @Moonshine66
In terms of your down ramping comment, there is no chance any of the posts here can potentially do that. Most are glib reviews and if anyone is using them to buy and sell, you should sell all your shares now and take up another hobby.
In terms of comparison of Magellan to other Fund Managers, it is more about comparing Magellan to Fund Managers with pools of FUM that are between 6 to 10 times larger than what Magellan has. While I haven't looked at the recent figures, on annual, three year and five year periods these fund managers have outperformed Magellan, despite the once in 100 year event. What are these businesses doing differently? I have asked the question before, but nobody has gone into the depth apart from @Clueso - I am genuinely interested in discussing the detail and have done so for other businesses on other boards.
Note: The comparison to GQG stopped because it was the end of the October last week. GQG and MFG was about comparison of growth in FUM, just waiting for ASX market announcements to get back into the detail of the underlying FUM performance. Ultimately it will be about how much Retail FUM MFG is losing, which won't be known until post-December (unless MFG change reporting).
In terms of GQG comments, you may not have noticed, but I don't really consider share price valuation at a point in time of a business to be reflective of its actual value. If you think you can down ramp GQG share price with posts please do so, I am considering next large portfolio purchase - but not sure if you can tell that is why I am asking such detailed questions.
Any comments on share price is like a broken clock, it is always right twice a day. This is why the deeper questions on Magellan value as opposed to share price - why would I invest more in GQG if Magellan are going to turnaround, what is the better investment and when will Magellan's business turn around? Are they likely to expand into the US, what does the future hold for Magellan? How much upside/downside for Magellan or GQG? Believe I have the answers for GQG, not 100% certain on Magellan's - particularly the Capital Investments.
Feel free to add to more on the detail.
