As to why the difference, I believe its a close end fund, so the funds are 'stuck' in the fund. The value of the fund is the NTA, the price of the fund is determined by marginal buyers and sellers. Importantly with the negative news concerning Magellan, marginal buyers are drying up. Therefore price action is determined by the marginal seller. With a lack of buying support, the share price trades at a discount to NTA.
I don't think the dividend will attract buyers as this is not a 'dividend' fund, ie its dividend yield will be too low to attract dividend hunters. In addition, because its 'global' the small dividends it does pay will be unfranked.
This doesn't make the fund 'bad', and in fact opens windows of opportunity for those wanting exposure to global stocks.
