Excellent point you make about financial credibility.
Up until the infamous Friday conference call 2 weeks back, MFS had that (Whether we all agree that was so, or not).
In the wash up, MFS may never re-capture their status in the market place because of the media beat up, hence it seems inevitable for me that someone "swallow" up their FM business while it still has some value, and FUM.
An AMP was able to survive its management traumas earlier this decade simply because their brand was so strong. MFS do not have that luxury.
King and others WERE MFS, and I fear the loss of the FM business will hurt more than the simple re-financing of a short term debt or partial sale of Stella.
