SHARES in funds management company MFS Ltd have been placed in a trading halt pending an announcement by the company.
MFS announced on Monday it was assessing an offer from fellow investment manager City Pacific Ltd to buy its financial services business.
The offer does not included MFS' Stella tourism division.
MFS requested the halt, saying in a statement it is considering a structural separation of Stella and the financial services business, through an entitlement issue to existing MFS shareholders.
The trading halt is in force until the announcement is made or start of trading on Friday.
