I used to work at FMG Christmas Creek Iron Ore mine in the Pilbara. Also worked at Rio Tinto mine in The Kimberlies in WA. They don't have grid electricity. Everything runs off 2 massive huge generators the size of diesel train engines to power the entire site.
MGT don't need electricity to get going - they can use generators and get hooked up to the Grid later.
