Yes I definitely think consolidation can be good at times when it's in an uptrend BUT no... In my personal experience and knowledge, it's only good if the company has matured long enough that it is able to push out money to its shareholders such as dividends etc.
The big "C" word is incredibly abolishing, really hurts its shareholders in either terms when it comes to a small cap company or even comes to medium cap companies, but it's only good when it's a Large cap.
