People may not be stupid. Day traders trade in a wide range of shares and couldn't give a toss about the actual companies. Just hunting for quick gains and losses.
Also they may of already made hundreds of thousands of dollars profit and moving onto another stock for. Especially when dividends are abut to be announced by a lot of companies. E.g. FMG
