You would like to think that the company anticipates the share price will be greater than 5c at the time of / prior to expiry.
Why? Because it gives them cash in the bank.
Gives them a massive incentive to progress, and provided the share price is higher than 5c it gives holders of MGTOD reason to convert their options, to then hold MGT heads at a discounted cost to market price.
