what you have trapped in the ground is low quality iron ore that needs to be intensively processed at huge cost to make it salable. If fmg decide to press the button and process there high grade 58 per cent iron ore into pullets. You recon mgt would be able to cut fmgs lunch with the 15% iron ore mgt has. Wont be long and fmg will do it, talking about it for years. As an investor you would be far better off with any of the majors if you believe in iron ore
