This from a Macquarie Private Wealth report. Koolan Island "turning into the sea" is exactly the state it was in when MGX bought the site from BHP. BHP blasted the wall to rehabilitate the site previously so does this mean the failure in the sea wall has saved MGX the trouble?

Koolan Island turns into the sea
Event
MGX has announced that following the failure of the sea wall it has placed its
Koolan Island operation on care and maintenance.
Impact
The pit has become the ocean: The failure of the seawall at Koolan Island
last week was catastrophic and MGX has announced that as a result it will put
the Koolan Island operations on care and maintenance. A decision to start
remedial work on the seawall is likely to be dependent on a recovery in iron ore
prices and MGX has indicated it will update the market on the future of the
project in mid 2015.
