I went over to Tassie for the first pylon air racing at Valleyfield near Launceston about '94. I vaguely remember some of the NZ guys flew over "feet wet" for the occasion. I went over mainly to meet Bob Hoover, a hero of mine from the '60's.
Apart from his aerobatics, he was the race starter.... Was a great event.
Would love to get over to see the racing at Reno.....they used to race some speccy and highly modified warbirds over there....
Miss flying.......I have Buckleys of passing the medical now. Did think of going Ultralight, but the GFC fixed that, and with my lungs the way they are, they probably wouldnt even pass me for that now, with the max altitude now 7,500 ft.
