That post explains it pretty well, Han. ...shows why we dont see what's "in between".

I did know a bit about it. I had worked on the Laverton (WA) Tx site when Telecom was the project operator, as a subcontractor. Then was "briefly" briefed on its apparent defects a few years later.
Funny, Telecom had a cost overrun of $900 mill plus on that project.....just before it floated as Telstra...a fact that some reckoned would fail the float. Yet when the float came, that $900 mill hole had disappeared. That was public knowledge. Amazing, eh? Wonder who picked up the tab?
I believe shortly after, Jindalee was taken over by the Yanks, who tweaked it and put in more stations. What it can do now, I dont know, just as I cant say what it could do years back.
But I can safely say it couldnt pick up that rowboat then, and it cant now. They might have to put in Tx, Rx, in New Zealand to cover the sea west of our NW coast...if they havent done that.

    GZ
