Btw, what seems plausible for me is the co-pilot signed off then went for a smoke in the toilet. Captain then locked the door behind him, turned off the comms and set off for his last ride. Probably took some sleeping tablets after a couple of hours and the plane continued off into the south Indian Ocean.
