The forum can be used if you say, want some information as to why the stock moved dramatically on a given day or if there is some announcement for which you would like a 3rd opinion and something general like that. Generally, there is always someone who knows a little bit more than you and to that extent it is a good tool.
I never use investment advice anymore. This is because it is biased and is limited to one person's opinion and nothing more. A stock moves on a myriad of information any individual playing at the hotcopper level could never grasp or know. Even at a sophisticated level it is impossible. If you work on the premise that all information is priced in then you can use charting as a good tool. Patterns always repeat.
