Just to put some perspective on the mice!
The reliability of clinical mice trials based on the use of a vaccinne in mice was debated ex nauseum in Hot copper AHZ threads a long time back.
A sholarly paper entitled do mice lie was sited.
The conclusion from that paper was " it depends upon what question you ask the mice"!
In other words the reliability of results was dependent upon the scientific rigour and relevance of the study using mice rather than humans, guinea pigs or even meerkats.
A few days back Russ posted the link to the scholarly paper by Dutton et al. Wherein the wonderful results for Prof Frazer's HSV vaccinne in a mice study were published. The University of Washington has since made many referrals to that study.
As far as I can read the science, Prof Frazer and the team asked the mice the right questions and got the right answers. The eradication of the latent HSV virus in their ganglions was one particular aspect the mice answered wholeheartedly with loud squeaks of approval.
