inside information is probably the best
I prefer to do my own forecasting based on something substantial like a knowledge of the actual business eg competition, nature of the product and financials eg ROE, growth in earnings
I like to use the same calculations used by analysts
I then like to match my calculations with theirs to see if I am on track
Finally as back up I use charts
Unfortunately this method doesn't work and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone
However it worked with macquarie though
I studied how the company used debt as well as the various revenue streams and knew they were going to produce a profit.
