What you say is a given and has been since the 1960s.
But that issue aside, one thing that should happen is for Australian movie makers to license the ABC to screen their movies for a reasonable fee. As it is most of them have little distribution if any and go straight to DVD. At one stroke the film makers could benefit by exposure and boost their dvd sales and the ABC could benefit by a source of content.
