I suspect a deal was hatched when Ruddy went to China. He wants to be everyone's friend so I suspect he would have alerted them to Swan's decision. I think MM will take a position in OZL as suggested which is a great result as it will allow them to keep to continue. If MM pulls out and OZL sinks this won't look good for the Chinese who want more and more of Australia's resources. What is patently clear is that the board have been alseep at the wheel the whole time not having predicted this or come up with a plan B. May be completeely wrong..next week will tell.
