Exciting news from the MindBio Therapeutics team! A recent article in this month's issue of New Scientist, titled "Microdosing LSD extends sleep the following night," discusses the fascinating findings from our Phase 1 clinical trial involving microdosing LSD. During this rigorous scientific journey, our dedicated team of researchers discovered an unexpected yet significant outcome - microdosing LSD not only had no negative impact on sleep but actually extended the sleep duration on the night following microdosing! Participants receiving a microdose of LSD slept an extra 24.3 minutes per night compared to the placebo group. Even more interesting is that these changes were not due to alterations in sleep stages or physical activity. This outcome, while unanticipated, brings to light the potential influence of microdosing LSD on sleep patterns, adding another dimension to the therapeutic potential of psychedelic substances. The implications of this research are substantial, especially for conditions such as major depressive disorder, where sleep disturbances are common. At MindBio, we are dedicated to exploring the full potential of psychedelic therapies and their ability to enhance mental wellness. Stay tuned for more groundbreaking research from MindBio and check out the full article in the New Scientist for more details!MindBio Therapeutics#psychedelicresearch#microdosing#depressionhttps://lnkd.in/gbjHwVBn

3dok, thats changes things. How extraordinary that other unexpected good things can come from this research. Did we make a mistake in jumping too quickly to ban this out of fear before exploring it properly?More importantly with the law changes in Australia and the US how do we become part of the change?
I didn’t see in the article if that was rem sleep, deep sleep, or light sleep. Makes a big difference what kind of sleep it is increased to know the actual benefit.
Great news and very interesting… I’m wondering whether it might improve the quality of sleep too, as an extension of these results?

3dRemarkable work, MindBio team! This revelation about LSD's impact on sleep patterns could redefine our understanding of psychedelic therapies. It is impressive to see such innovative research being conducted.
The positive data that is coming for this trial is truly encouraging and continues to build the case for microdosing.
To our knowledge this might be the first report of an effect of microdosing on an objectively measurable behavioural outcome and its completely unexpected nature is difficult to explain as a placebo/expectation effect, particularly given the null response in the placebo group data.
