The "cost of manufacture" point in particular is actually a best-selling point, because plastic needles are used rather than metal in conjunction with the low-cost magnetic patch. So it's rather ironic that this answer should be given. Heather Benson and Matthew McIldowie in their May 2017 article, I recall, also suggested that one of the attractive features of using magnetophoresis with miconeedles was the low cost of manufacture involved, as compared to other microneedle delivery methods. The company's microneedle patch patent is also to be granted by the Australian patent office within the next few weeks if not days. The company is also pressing ahead with this patent in the United States and the EU. They been pressing for this micro-needle patch patent in all of these countries for many years. It is also clear from all of the company's other patent applications, when they have no longer seen any commercical utility in pursuing it, they've abandoned it part way through the patent application process. But certainly this is not the micro-needle patch patent - they clear want it, and they've almost got it in the countries that matter. We are not being given the complete picture at all, no doubt for reasons of strict commercial confidentiality.

The patent was finally granted by the Australian Patent Office yesterday. The company therefore has a monopoly on producing microneedles fitted with a magnetic micro-array in Australia until 2033. Next up, the United States patent office and EU.... But I really want to know where the product is.
