some points that I can remember from the presentation: - when asked about rising costs, Alex Commins explained that now about 70% of the production is under contract, eg. they might have a 3 year contract to supply packaging for the Gillette. Under these contracts Colorpak does have some ability to raise prices if input costs do rise. - Colorpak is part of a Global packaging alliance - they can be part of global product rollouts eg. Gillete - the large capex program of the last 2 years was to take advantage of a customers requirement to diversify its supplier base after the Carter Holt Harvey of Wadepack. Colorpak picked up a large amount of work from this industry consolidation. - capex for the next few years will be much lower. - Colorpak is consistently the number 1 packaging company is OZ in the markets it operates in. This is number 1 in industry surveys, not by revenue. - Colorpak has two main banks and plenty of headroom for further borrowings if an aquisition oppportunity arises. - Colorpak is consistently taking market share off the bigger players. - the pharmakit offering is fairly sophisticated. They can do the blister foil packs, printed labels, leaflet inserts. Actually, the whole requirement for pharmaceutical packaging. - Alex Commins was comfortable with single digit revenue growth for the future but any aquisitions could boost this. - Colorpak is actively looking for aquisitions but in no rush. Consolidation opportunities do present themselves occasionally and the management view it as important to act quickly in those circumstances (like the oppportunities present by the Wadepack customer change).
