Mics in Boost can be set to Record

I am going on a trip and thought it would be good to record some of the guides commentary. Since the mics in Boosts are very good, I felt this would be preferable to using the phone mics, particularly since I normally have my phone in a pocket.
I couldn't however see how to use Boosts to record. Nuheara couldn't help, but did indicate that they could be used as mics in Windows 10.
I have now downloaded Voice Recorder App from the Google playstore and it works brilliantly once I set it in advanced to turn on "use external mic when connected". I have given this feedback to Nuheara as I think it would be very useful for journalists. The playback is also through the Boosts to not annoy others. Unfortunately, "world off" doesn't stop the recording via the buds, but maybe it is a function which can be easily added by the developers and so generate an additional revenue stream.
It's not windy here at present, so I can't comment on how it handles wind noise.
