“Brinsden says if all you have is spodumene, you’re currently bound to the Chinese market. If you want to supply the new supply chain in the US and Europe, you’ll need partners who can deliver chemical conversion capacity in new markets.”
The Patriot boss and former PLS CEO says that within ten years, transporting spodumene concentrate will be a thing of the past.
He says why SC is a very inefficient feedstock and will be surpassed by other mid-stream products with a higher lithia content.
Dale Henderson the current PLS boss made special mention at the D & D conference that PLS will be embarking on a pathway to an intermediate product, lithium phosphate that has a concentration of 38%.
All hard rock miners will be thinking the same thing IMO.
